The Manifesto

Semia is the tangible sign of Italy's feminist transformation. Semia is the good omen that change is already underway: we're not talking about the optimism of those who wait, but the determined will of those who believe in a better future awaiting us, as long as we continue to fight, study, and unite.

We believe in the sprouts of change even when they're just an idea and support them to grow strong, nourished by the history of Italian feminism, the resources of the territory, and the skills of a network of entities driven by the same ideals.

We pursue gender equality from an intersectional perspective where class, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, education, and geographical origin are the multiple axes of our focus.

We believe in the strength of differences that unite us; we believe in the importance of self-determination of women's bodies, finances, and destinies, as a key to addressing violence and systemic discrimination in Italy.

Our goal is to strengthen and support the Italian feminist ecosystem, aware of the difficulties of the organizations within it and the structural causes that determine them.

We aim at removing the obstacles to feminist action by doing what feminists are good at: building networks and collectively dismantling barriers to equal realization for women+.

We work with other entities to create spaces for debate and share feminist knowledge because feminisms are stronger together. We generate galaxies of philanthropic collaboration for the cause of gender justice.

We belong to all women+ and to free and self-determined individuals who want to use their freedom to liberate others, through the horizontal sharing of resources, time, and energies.

We believe that a feminist society is not just a possible dimension but the present time.

With love and strength,

SEMIA FONDO DELLE DONNE
